Everything has been a little heavy here lately, so for laughs…
Things I have done this week:
*Taught fourteen piano lessons (one absence) and held in laughter for two solid hours on my last work day because the excuses for not practicing were so ludicrous. Although, that one about not having a piano anymore was real and the ones about being too busy as 11 year olds resulted in some mind-numbing recycled lessons. They were all too real. All. Too. Real.
*Cooked dinner for 16 people for our weekly small group meeting. Last time I made spaghetti, 3lbs wasn’t enough ground beef. This time I used 5 lbs and ended up freezing 2 lbs of spaghetti after everyone left. Just can’t get it right.
*Started a new schedule that gives me 2-3 uninterrupted hours per day to write. I’m not saying that I’m writing for 2 solid hours, but I do have the time to….
Things I’ve said this week:
*”Boxed wine is just is just not as good as regular wine.” (Thank you, Captain Obvious.)
*In response to my husband’s query regarding my Chocolate Zucchini Cake (gluten free, starch free, sugar free, taste free, will-to-live free): “It tastes like someone put a vegetable in my chocolate cake. What did you expect? It’s horrifying.”
*”I’m not sure how to tell a story about someone being a jerk without revealing the fact that they were a jerk. I mean, that points us all to Jesus, right?”
Things I have pulled from my nearly 9 month old’s mouth (keep in mind…this is just in the past 7 days):
*a leaf
*a dead bug
*the knob off a guitar amp
*a rock
*a piece of hard, clear plastic that was at some point the wrapping on some new item. I have no idea.
*grass
*food off the floor (I’m less concerned about this one, all things considered)
–> Important to note–none of this happened out of doors.
Also, I cannot quantify the amount of bath water he drank. I do watch him very closely. Imagine if I didn’t.
Here’s to a restful weekend and a better week head!
